Nathan Myhrvold
We better start working on inventions haha.
Holy… This Myhrvold guy’s a professional
jackmaster-of-all-trades… And not to mention, “nerdy on an epic scale.”List of some of his notable achievements:
- Started college at age 14 (Mathematics, Geophysics, Space Physics at UCLA)
- Master’s degree in Mathematical Economics at Princeton
- PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics by age 23 (also at Princeton)
- Worked at Microsoft as Chief Technology Officer for 13 years, founded Microsoft Research (left in 1999 with loads of money)
- Prize-winning nature and wildlife photographer
- Involved with Paleontological research (dug up more T. Rex specimens than anyone else in the world)
- Published a lot of high-profile scientific journals
- Master French chef, has finished first in the world championship of barbeque in Memphis
- Classical “bassoonist” (what the hell?)
- Currently runs a company called Intellectual Ventures (his firm has gathered around 3,000 to 5,000 patents, more than any other company that purchases and invents patents - and he hasn’t started suing yet!)
- Because of IV, some call him the “most feared man in Silicon Valley”
Last, he’s not 50 yet…
I’m feeling inadequate already, and I’m 19.
