The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee

My friends in the office are promoting this show which will be on Dec. 6, 2009 (Sunday) at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Makati.  I need to buy tickets fast because the seats are being sold quickly.  It will by funny though to see that most of the attendees will be familiar faces from our office lol.

The 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, is a broadway musical comedy about six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grownups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser. This hilarious tale of overachievers’ angst chronicles the experience of 6 adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime.

During the show, a celebrity guest actually performs with the cast.  Filipino celebrity guest spellers during the previous sold-out runs included Tony winner Lea Salonga, Jett Pangan, Pinky Marquez, Cheska Ortega, Leo Rialp, Jon Santos, Cherie Gil, Senator Chiz Escudero, Noel Trinidad, Gabe Mercado, Sitti, Miguel Mendoza, Gina Alajar, Christian Bautista, Isabella Gonzales, Franco and Ayen Laurel, Geneva Cruz, Wency Cornejo, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Rajo Laurel, Nyoy Volante, Teresa Herrera, Aiza Seguerra and Raya Mananquil.
